Synopsis:

Follow Salem on a summer break adventure as he celebrates his girlfriend Selene's birthday alongside her fellow queer friend. Will the birthday party be a hit? Will Salem fit in among a friend group he's not used to? Read through A Birthday Suprise to find out!

About:

A Birthday Suprise is a kinetic novel that was originally just a project for an Interactive Design class I was taking. However, when I started development over Spring Break (Around March 10th), I found out it coincided with NanoRenMo and got permission from my professor to participate in a game jam as part of class (Yay!)

I am also glad to have found new uses for old things. The characters in the VN are old sonic fan characters that I never did anything with, and I knew at the start of March I needed to give them a new (and actually complete) story.

I planned out the plot over the first week, knocked out the writing in four days, then spent two weeks drawing all the backdrops and new character poses and outfits in my old sketchbook. I'm glad to have had a chance to cross off another thing on the to-do list I made back in 2017.
